The
Tewksbury House was built in 1874.
This queen styled home originally had
silos in the yard which manufactured gas
to feed the lighting system in the
house. The house has many different
moods which grace the many rooms.
The size and elegance of the rooms made
the house a showplace. S. C.
Tewksbury purchased an interest in the
Wood, Nims & Company (located in the
empty lot next to the BP) in 1873 and the
firm's name was changed to Nims, Tewksbury
& Company. The property extended
through to Simons St., where the maids
quarters were located. The stoned
basket was built in the 1920's by the
Elias family. It is currently Watson Manor
