In the thumb of Michigan

FEBRUARY 7, 2009

52 Degrees today when all week it was zero!

The warmth started melting the beautiful sculptures that chef Sean O'Rourke created all during the week!

PIZZA COOK OFF - over 400 people were served at the Lions Hall....Kids and parents enjoyed sledding down the hill!

It was all you can eat pizza for $6.00 at the door, kids 5-10 $3.00, 4 and under were free.  Pop and water was available

for $1.00.  The seven venues that competed were:  Lakeshore Market, Kautz Shore Lanes, Steiss, Cadillac house,

Lakeview Hills, Treve's from Croswell, and Uri's Landing from Port Sanilac.  As of today, Steiss and Treve's tied for

first place.  The ballots were being recounted Saturday evening.  Will update the web when the results are in.  First

place will receive a large banner for bragging rights and their name will be engraved on the traveling plaque.

Winter fun was had by all at the sledding hill at Lake street.  A warming fire was provided as well as hot chocolate!
