Board Meeting

Members Present: Jim Gresock, Marty O’Brien, Carol Watson,

Deanna Werthmann, Peggy Stencel, Marilyn Light, Phil Essenmacher,

Betty Harvey

 

Members Absent:  None

 

Jim opened the meeting at 2:35 P.M. with a discussion on the annual request for advertising funding from the DDA.  Jim will make a request on behalf of the LBA for $4,000.00.  The request will be made at the DDA meeting the evening of 1/9/2008.

 

The board discussed the 2008 calendar.  The LBA will sponsor the July 26th

Triathlon Event as well as the 5K Race on August 16th. 

 

LBA membership is asked to attend the Lexington Village Council Meeting on Monday, January 14th, at 7 P.M. held at the Village Hall. 

 

Lexington on Ice was also discussed.  Sixteen blocks of ice are being purchased for the cost of $1,072.00, which includes delivery costs.  Ice will be delivered on January 17th.  Broom Ball will be played on the Village Green.

 

The LBA mission statement was discussed.  Board members agreed that the mission of the LBA is to promote Lexington by creating events that bring people to the village.

 

Croswell-Lexington High School Art Teacher, Randy Simmons was contacted about having his students create a logo for the LBA.  He has agreed to do this and it will be done through a contest with his senior art students participating.  Art Students will also create picture boards for the park that will be placed this spring.

 

Carol handed out a report with the following information --

Of the 143 surveys sent to Lexington area businesses, 15 have been returned.

Please get your survey sent in as soon as possible.

 

The LBA website received 111,219 hits for 2007.  We had 12 website links.

 

We had 102 LBA members for 2007 and 46 members as of 1/9/2008.

Net Income              906.00
